Anabir Has Career High 22 Points but T-Birds Fall to Phoenix College, 77-65

Mesa, AZ - Noe Anabir had the touch tonight as he scored a career high 22 points but it wasn't enough as Mesa loses to Phoenix College, 77-65.

It was anyone's ballgame at halftime, as Mesa had just a one point lead, 34-33, but both teams combined for eight tie's and nine lead changes in just the first half alone.

Anabir paced the T-Birds with 14 points in the first half, shooting 6-6 from the field with one three pointer and adding a free throw.

PC and Mesa started the second half the way the first half ended.  At the 14 minute mark though, with the game tied at 45, the Bears pulled ahead, connecting on a couple three pointers and a few jump shots and went on a 12-5 run.

It was during this time that Mesa just couldn't get shots to fall.  They had good looks at the rim but just couldn't convert baskets.

The Bears were able to get the lead up to a dozen a few times and Mesa couldn't overcome.

Jamil Wilson-Jones was the only other T-Bird in double-figures for points with 10.

Mesa is now 12-6 overall and 7-4 in the ACCAC.  The T-Birds will be back home on Wednesday night against South Mountain, tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
