Women's Cross Country Moves up in Week 2 Coaches' Poll

New Orleans, LA - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the Week 2 NJCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll on Wednesday, with the Thunderbirds women's cross country team moving up two spots to number eight overall.

Heartland CC and Cowley College moved up in the rankings as well to become the new top two ranked teams. Wallace State CC, Lansing CC, and Grand Rapids CC round out the top five women's teams. The next National Coaches' Poll will be released on October sixth.

The T-Birds will be in contention against other nationally ranked teams for a conference title at the ACCAC Championships on October first. Paradise Valley CC will be hosting the meet at Freestone Park in Gilbert. Their women's team is ranked 21st overall. Pima CC (22nd) and Central Arizona College (fourth in NJCAA Division I) are also expected to be in contention.
