Women's TF Hosts Mesa Outdoor Invite

Mesa, AZ - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team hosted the Mesa Outdoor Inviational on Friday night.

Lucy Lines was the lone first-time national qualifier for the lady T-Birds as she ran a personal-best time of 40:19.69 in the 10,000m.

Victoria Malaki (hammer throw - 46.03m PB) and Mia Sirimarco (400m hurdles - 1:05.13 PB) each improved their marks in events they've already qualfied for.

Mesa also had three event winners. The 4x400m relay (3:56.64), Kaprice Faraci (javelin throw - 33.81m), and Malaki (discus throw - 43.31m).

Second-place finishers included the 4x100m relay (47.80), Zaria Hamilton in the 400m dash (57.70), Kate Brockman in the 800m (2:19.15), Story Alexander in the 3000m steeplechase (12:04.15), Maliyah Ross in the long jump (5.32m), and Malaki in the shot put (10.62m).

The lady T-Birds will compete in the Canyon Invitational next weekend at Grand Canyon University.
