The Mesa Thunderbirds women's track & field team competed at both the NAU Ron Mann Classic and the CAC Indoor & Multi on Friday and Saturday.

At the Ron Mann Classic, Katherine Lemish broke the indoor school record in the 60m hurdles, as she 8.84 seconds in the prelims to break the school record and hit a qualifying time for indoor nationals in the process. The previous record only lasted for two weeks and was held by teammate Lilyanna Martinez (9.04).

At the CAC Indoor & Multi, three individual athletes and one relay team hit qualifying marks.

The distance medley relay team (Kate Brockman, Marilyn Inelus, Taylor Jacobs, and Anna Harmon) ran an impressive 12:29.19 solo effort as they just missed out on the school record (12:25.35) by a couple of seconds.

Zaria Hamilton ran 57.90 in the 400m dash to inch past the qualifying standard of 57.97. Both Brockman (2:21.93) and Jacobs (2:22.22) doubled back to qualify in the 800m as well.

Maliyah Ross competed in the pentathlon and scored 2,900 points. There is no qualifying standard for this event as only the top-16 marks, regardless of score, will advance to indoor nationals. Ross currently ranks ninth in this event as of Sunday, Feb. 5th.
