Four TF Athletes Earn All-Region Honors at Region I Multis

Mesa, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds men's and women's track & field team had four athletes earn All-Region honors at the NJCAA Region I Multi Championships. The men's decathlon and women's heptathlon took place this past Monday and Tuesday at MCC.

In the decathlon, Theodore Gosselin was the region champion, scoring a new lifetime best of 6334 points, over an 800 point improvement. Aiden Gosselin was fourth with 4710 points.

In the heptathlon, Sara Jacobson was the region runner-up with 4356 points, just one point shy of her lifetime best. Shay Bernal was fifth with a lifetime best score of 3539 points.

Pima CC and Central Arizona also had several athletes compete in the multis. Click on the link below to view the live results.

For the men's team scoring, the T-Birds and Pima CC are tied for first at 15 points each. Central Arizona is third at eight points. For the women's team scoring, Pima CC is first with 24 points, the T-Birds are second with 12 points, while Central Arizona is third with two points. The remaining 24 events to be scored will take place next week on May 3rd and the 5th at MCC.
