Mesa, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team closed out their regular season competing at their home meet on Friday night and at the ASU Twilight both Friday and Saturday.

At the Mesa Invitational, Julianna Perez threw a PB in the hammer throw (45.79m) and won the event. Karsten Deakin was second in the shot put (11.60m) and third in the hammer throw (44.55m). Kaprice Faraci won the javelin (38.01m), just 0.63m off from her PB.

Anna Harmon ran a PB in the 3000 meter steeplechase 12:01.91, while Story Alexander nearly qualified for nationals after running 12:28.65, just five seconds short.

Ciara Bardwell won the 200 (25.74) and was second in the 100 (12.42), Zana Ryan was third in the 100 (12.45), Kaitlyn Doyle was third in the 200 (25.92), and Zanna Ramirez was third in 800 (2:36.20).

At the ASU Twilight, Zaria Hamilton (57.14), Katherine Bonham (1:02.61), and Ryan (1:00.96) each ran a PB in the 400-meter dash. Brooke Stradling ran 2:19.36 in the 800 and almost earned a new PB in the event.

The 4x100 (Bardwell, Ryan, Doyle, and Hamilton - 48.30) and 4x400 meter relays (Bardwell, Hamilton, Stradling, and Kate Brockman - 3:56.71) ran their second-best marks of the season. Click on the links below to view the complete results.

The T-Birds will compete in the NJCAA Region I Championships, starting off with the multi events today and tomorrow at 3:00 pm. The remaining events will take place on May third and fifth at MCC.
