Women's TF Records 12 New Personal-Best Marks at Gaucho Invite

Glendale, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team recorded 12 new personal-best marks at the Gaucho Invitational on Saturday evening, hosted by Glendale CC.

Sara Jacobson hit personal bests in three separate events. First in the javelin, she improved her PB by over two meters with a 38.78 meter mark and hit the NJCAA qualifying standard in the process. Jacobson also ran a PB of 16.16 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and recorded a 5.20 m PB in the long jump.

The women's 4x100 meter relay (Ciara Bardwell, Zana Ryan, Zaria Hamilton, and Kaitlyn Doyle) ran 48.17, their second best effort on the season and an NJCAA qualifying time. Bardwell (100 meters, 12.07), Hamilton (400 meters, 58.51), and Ryan (200 meters, 25.56) all returned later in the meet to record new personal bests in each of their respective events.

Story Alexander won the 1500 meters and hit a new PB of 5:32.90, a nearly six second improvement. Anna Harmon was second in the 800 meters and lowered her PB by over four seconds (2:24.08). Katherine Bonham narrowly missed the qualifying time for the 400-meter hurdles, running a PB of 1:07.18, just 0.38 seconds off the standard. Shay Bernal ran a new PB in the 100-meter hurdles with a 16.53 effort. Bernal also tied her PB in the high jump at 1.45 m. Anessa Rodriguez jumped a mark of 5.34 m to earn a new PB in the long jump.
