Tempe, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team had a new national qualifier and four athletes earn personal-bests at the ASU Sun Angel Classic.

Mesa was only one of two junior college programs (the other being Mt. SAC (CA)) with athletes competing at the meet. The remaining programs were NCAA Division I affiliated (ASU, Brown, BYU, GCU, Iowa State, Kansas, NAU, San Diego State, and UTEP).

The women's 4x100 meter relay (Zana Ryan, Zaria Hamilton, Ciara Bardwell, and Kaitlyn Doyle) ran a new season-best and hit a qualifying time for outdoor nationals for the first time this season (47.94). Doyle (100 meters, 12.76), Bardwell (200 meters, 25.23), and Hamilton (400 meters, 59.24) each doubled back later Saturday night to run new personal-bests.

Kate Brockman ran the 3000 meters for the first time in her collegiate career on Friday night, running a time of 10:37.58. Brockman returned Saturday night to earn a new PB in the 1500 meters (4:51.33). Brooke Stradling nearly ran a PB in the 800 meters, being just 1/3 of a second off (2:19.65).
