Women’s T&F Closes Out Indoor Nationals Strong

Pittsburg, Kan. - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team closed out the 2022 NJCAA Indoor Championships with a strong performance.

The 4x800 meter relay, featuring Kate Brockman, Anna Harmon, Makayla Engelhardt, and Brooke Stradling, ran a total time of 9:35.07 and placed fifth overall to earn All-American honors. This was Harmon's and Engelhardt's second and Stradling's first AA honors at the meet.

Kate Brockman returned later in the afternoon to earn her third AA honor at the meet, placing fourth overall in the 1000-meter final and running a personal best time of 3:03.91.

The 4x400 meter relay (Ciara Bardwell, Zaria Hamilton, Iolani Baker, and Sara Jacobson) ran a season-best time of 3:59.20 and placed 10th overall. The T-Birds finished with 13 total points and were 16th nationally. Iowa Western won the team title with 160 points.

The T-Birds will now shift their focus to the outdoor season. The first meet will be at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson and the Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe.
