Women's T&F earns All-American honors in Two Events after Day One of Indoor Nationals

Pittsburg, Kan. - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team had one relay team and an individual athlete earn All-American honors after day one of the 2022 NJCAA Indoor Championships.

In the women's distance medley relay (Anna Harmon, Zaria Hamilton, Makayla Engelhardt, and Kate Brockman), they won the first heat with a time of 12:28.97, just three seconds off the school record for the event. And after the second heat was wrapped up, the women were able to hold onto sixth place overall and earn All-American honors.

In the shot put final, Karsten Deakin also earned All-American honors after placing eighth overall with a mark of 12.39 meters.

Brockman (3:05.01, fifth), Brooke Stradling (3:07.17, eighth), and Harmon (3:10.15, 11th) each ran person bests in the 1000-meter prelims, with Brockman and Stradling advancing to the finals.

In the pentathlon, Sara Jacobson scored 2875 points and finished in 10th place. In the 60-meter dash prelims, Ciara Bardwell finished in 19th place at 7.78 seconds. Bardwell returned in 400-meter dash prelims and finished 17th. Iolani Baker also competed in the 400 prelims, finishing in 20th place.
