Women's T&F Competes at NAU Tune-Up

Flagstaff, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team competed in the NAU Tune-Up Friday night at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome. The meet featured four NCAA Division I teams (Arizona, Montana State, NAU, and UNLV), four NAIA teams (ACU, Embry-Riddle AZ, Ottawa AZ, and Park U.), along with four ACCAC opponents (Glendale CC, Paradise Valley CC, Phoenix College, and Pima CC)

Ciara Bardwell won the 400-meter dash (1:00.20) and helped lead the women's 4x400 relay to the victory. Zaria Hamilton and Iolani Baker finished right behind in second and third.

Brooke Stradling was second in the 600 meters and improved her qualifying time to 1:38.07, just missing the school record (1:37.06). Anna Harmon ran 2:30.56 in the 800 meters to help the women's 4x800 relay earn a composite qualifying time for indoor nationals.

Karsten Deakin threw a personal-best mark in the weight throw (14.35m) and was third in the shot put. Kaitlyn Doyle ran 25.90 seconds in the 200-meter dash and finished fourth. Julianna Perez was fourth in the shot put (11.86m). Kaprice Faraci threw a personal-best mark in the shot put (10.96m). Click on the link below to view the complete results.

Up next for the T-Birds are the NJCAA Indoor Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University (KS) on March fourth and fifth.
