Mesa, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds women's track & field team took advantage of the great weather in their first home meet of the season.

Ciara Bardwell has broken the school record in the 60-meter dash in each of the past three instances she's raced this event. Bardwell's new record, now 7.71 seconds, has qualified her for indoor nationals.

Bardwell also went on to qualify in the 400 meters (57.52) and run a leg in the 4x400 meter relay that ran a qualifying time of 4:00.74.

Kate Brockman earned herself a national qualifying mark in a second event this season, this time in the 800 meters with a 2:24.16 clocking. Brooke Stradling was second (2:25.78).

Karsten Deakin continues to hit the qualifying mark in the shot put (12.81 m), making this the fourth straight meet she has done so.

In the pentathlon, Sarah Jacobson (2776) and Shay Bernal (2625) scored well enough to currently rank them within the top 16 nationally, which is the maximum number allowed to compete at indoor nationals for this event.

Anna Harmon won the 1000 meters, but her time (3:12.98) ultimately came up short of qualifying for the event. Julianna Perez was second in both the shot put (12.06 m) and weight throw (12.84 m). Click on the link below to view the complete results.
