Kori Stephenson named ACCAC DII Women's Basketball Coach of the Year

The ACCAC announced their 2023-24 Women's Basketball postseason awards on Thursday morning listing Kori Stephenson as the ACCAC DII Coach of the Year.

Stephenson led her team to the DII ACCAC title in her 17th season as they secured the No. 1 seed in the Region I DII postseason. Mesa has made the Region I postseason every season under Stephenson.

The Lady T-Birds climbed as high as No. 3 in the country at one point after beginning the season ranked 16 in the preseason poll. MCC took down multiple juggernauts in their 2023-24 campaign as they defeated then No. 5 opponent Morton College, and DI opponent College of Southern Idaho who at the time ranked No. 3 in the nation. 

Stephenson and company took two of three games against rival Pima, and swept their season series against CGCC, Glendale, South Mountain, Phoenix & Scottsdale.

MCC is ranked No. 6 in the nation and holds the No. 1 seed in the DII Region I postseason which begins Thursday March 7 as Mesa welcomes in CGCC for the Semi-Final matchup.
