Hernandez was named the Interim Head Coach of MCC Softball for the 2024 season.

Hernandez is very familiar with MCC as she played for the Thunderbirds from 2016-17. In her time at MCC Hernandez had a .357 batting average, 28 stolen bases, scored 44 runs, and batted in 28 runs. Hernandez was third team all-conference in her lone season as a T-Bird.

Hernandez originally hails from Flagstaff, AZ where her father got her to love the game of softball by not only introducing her to the sport, but coaching her through it as well.

Hernandez graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice from Benedictine University Mesa in 2019. In 2022 Hernandez graduated from Benedectine University in Lisle, IL with her Masters Degree of Business Administration.

In addition to playing at MCC Hernandez suited up for Phoenix College where she was voted top incoming freshman. In her last collegiate playing stint Hernandez took the field at Benedictine University in Mesa where she currently holds the record for most stolen bases in a career (26), has the second most swipes in a season (19 in 2019), and has the fourth highest career batting average (.342).

Softball is a sport where having fun but also being competitive go hand in hand and Hernandez is well aware of the notion.

"Boys need to win to have fun, but girls need to have fun to win," said Hernandez.
