Glendale, AZ – In their final road games of the year, the Mesa softball team split s doubleheader at Glendale, dropping the opener, 8-2, but bouncing back to take the nightcap, 7-5.
Game One Recap – Glendale built a 3-0 lead in the third and expanded that to a 7-1 margin after five, which was too much for the T-Birds to overcome. Alex Reeve, the ACCAC's fourth leading hitter, added two hits to her total and Kylie Wilhelms had a pair herself.
Game Two Recap – This time it was Mesa that jumped out early with four in the top of the first, largely on a three-run homer by Reeve, her team leading tenth of the season. May Obata also hit one out in the seventh. MCC collected a total of six doubles.
The season comes to a close Saturday as Mesa hosts Arizona Western at noon.
