Gardner named ACCAC DII Pitcher of the Week

 Mesa, AZ – In the next to last week of the season, softball player Gillian Gardner earned ACCAC Division II Pitcher of the Week honors. It was for games between April 25 and May 1.

  In her only game of the week, against Paradise Valley, the freshman from Maricopa, AZ, and Maricopa H.S., hurled a gem against Paradise Valley in a 9-1 victory for MCC, which ended in six innings due to the run rule.

  In the six-inning complete game Gardner allowed just the one run and gave up only four hits. She struck out five and walked only one batter.

 It was the third weekly honor for MCC this season with Alex Reeve having been named Player of the Week twice.

  The T-Birds will be back in action Tuesday for a doubleheader at Glendale and then return home for the final two games of the season Saturday against Arizona Western at noon.
