Alex Reeve Named ACCAC DII Softball Player of the Week

MESA, AZ - The Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) announced on Tuesday, that Mesa Thunderbird outfielder Alex Reeve has been named the ACCAC DII Softball Player of the Week for games played from March 7-13. This is the first award for a Thunderbird player this season.

"Alex (Reeve) has put in a lot of hard work and it's paying off for us," said head coach Grady Moorehead. "She is a great young lady who is seeing the ball really well. Alex continues to put together great at-bats and it has been fun to watch."

Coach Moorehead continued, "This award is much deserved and we are so lucky to have her on our team."

Last week, the Thunderbirds traveled to Phoenix to face Paradise Valley in a conference doubleheader. In a game one 17-8 victory in a final 6-innings, Reeve finished a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate, with a season-high four doubles, two runs scored, and six RBIs.

In game two against Paradise Valley, Mesa defeated the Pumas 15-1 in a final 5-innings. In that contest, Reeve finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a single, a double, and a homerun. She also scored three runs and drove in four runs.

The Thunderbirds are off this week, before hosting the Glendale Gauchos on Saturday for an ACCAC doubleheader, beginning at 12 Noon.
