Baldwin and Trujillo earn West Region Athlete of the Year awards

MCC Cross Country was honored to have two athletes win West Region Athlete of the Year for their 2023 season.

Carmella Baldwin was named the Female Athlete of the Year - West Region. Baldwin has had an incredible freshman year finishing top 10 in three races including two first place finishes. Baldwin became Conference Champion at the ACCAC Championships in late September as she finished first overall in the race.

Jorge Trujillo was named the Male Athlete of the Year - West Region. Trujillo has been a welcomed steady figure for MCC Men's Cross Country this season. In his freshman year Trujillo has finished top five in two races including an impressive first place finish at the Region I Championships on Oct. 28.

Both Baldwin and Trujillo have worked hard this season to push themselves and their teammates to new heights and have been rewarded with these incredible awards to show for it.
