Two-year school finally beats men's tennis
Mesa, AZ – A two-year school finally defeated the Mesa men's tennis team as Pratt CC (Kan.) topped the T-Birds 7-2 Monday on the MCC courts.
Meanwhile, the Mesa women dropped a 6-1 decision to Pratt.
In the first six matches of the year the T-Birds had only lost to four-year schools three times and defeated three ACCAC rivals.
Winning at singles for the MCC men was Harry Browning at No. 1, 6-3, 6-0. The No. 1 doubles team of Browning and Asad Okoye was victorious 9-8 (7-4).
For the women, the lone winner was Marti Doud at No. 5 singles who won, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.
The same two teams meet again Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
