Men's tennis wins ACCAC opener over Paradise Valley, 7-2

    Mesa, AZ -   The Mesa men's tennis team opened its ACCAC season with a 7-2 win over Paradise Valley Tuesday.

  " Big win by the T-Birds," said head coach Feroz Rast. "I'm very proud of the fight we showed and the toughness.  

  "We knew PVCC would be very tough and well-coached and our guys were up for the battle. 

 "I was very happy to see us dominate in doubles and really take that momentum into singles. Singles proved to be a big test and we were able to play some big-point tennis, winning five out of the six singles played.  

  "Next up we get Glendale at home and we will need to be ready for another tough match.  

 "Highlights of the day were the dominant wins by Harry Browning and Andrew Hoffman in singles and also the third set classics by Asad Okoye and Frichard Mulenga.  Looking forward to building on this win and continuing our growth."

  MCC hosts GCC Thursday on the Mesa courts at 4:30.
