Men's tennis opens spring season with 7-0 loss to NCAA DI Northern Arizona

Flagstaff, AZ – Playing an extremely tough schedule, the Mesa men's tennis team opened its spring schedule with a 7-0 loss to NCAA Division I Northern Arizona Saturday.

"We played very hard today against a very strong D1 team in NAU," said head coach Feroz Rast.

"I am very happy with our progress early in the season and this match will help us prepare for our tough conference matches down the road. Highlights of the day were the play of Harry Browning in both singles and doubles. He was fighting for every point and although the score doesn't reflect it, the match was much closer than the score. We have another tough match coming up in a week against DII Western New Mexico."

That match will take place Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the MCC courts. In between, the T-Birds will meet NCAA Division III Pacific Lutheran Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and California junior college Imperial Valley Thursday, also at home at 4:30.
