No. 17 MCC Men's Soccer had a scare early in their ACCAC contest against Chandler-Gilbert CC, but were able to rally and pick up the 3-1 win.

MCC gave up a goal off of a corner kick just four minutes into the game. The Thunderbirds would try to get their offense rolling but at times it sputtered and until the second half never truly got on track.

Coming out of the halftime break, Mesa played like a different team, more together, more focused, and sharper on the pitch which translated into goals.

In the 52nd minute Jose Carillo would find the back of the net thanks to a Gabriel Gutierrez Alapizco assist off of a cross. In the 69th minute Joseph Rodriguez would score a goal to give his team a 2-1 advantage. Finally to ice the game, Abdiel Beltran would score his team leading fifth goal of the season to give MCC a 3-1 lead.

The Thunderbirds would hold steady and stave off multiple CGCC attacks to secure the win, keeper Alejandro Chavez had three saves on the night.

With the win MCC improved their overall record to 6-2-4 and their conference mark to 4-1-4. The Thunderbirds will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to take on Glendale CC.
