Both Thunderbird soccer teams will take the field tonight in their second to last game of the regular season as Chandler-Gilbert visits John D. Riggs Stadium. This was supposed to be their final game of the season but the match against Gateway on Saturday was postponed to Thursday Oct. 20th due to inclement weather.
The men's team holds the No. 7 ranking in the country, with a 10-3-1 overall record and a 5-2-1 conference record the team sits third when it comes to playoff seeding behind Phoenix and Pima respectively.
The Chandler-Gilbert men's team come into the contest with a 3-9 overall record, and a 1-7 conference record. The Coyotes give up an average of nearly four goals per game while scoring nearly two per game.
In their first contest against Chandler-Gilbert, Mesa was able to come out with the 2-1 victory behind two second half goals.
