Mesa soccer takes on a difficult task Saturday night as the men and women will welcome Pima Community College into John D. Riggs Stadium.

The Mesa women's team is coming off a 1-0 overtime loss to Yavapai Tuesday night as the Roughriders were able to find the back of the net in the first overtime period to end the game. The Lady Thunderbirds come into the game with a 1-7 overall record, and a 1-3 conference record.

The Lady Aztecs are also coming into this game with a recent loss, as they were defeated by Phoenix last Saturday and in doing so, lost their one ranking and slipped down to No. 2. The team comes into the game with a 5-1 overall record, with a conference record of 2-1.

No. 20th ranked Mesa men will have their hands full as the Pima's men's team is currently ranked No. 1.

Mesa has won their last two including another strong second half against Yavapai that pushed them to victory. The T-Birds currently sit 5th in the conference standings, they come in with an overall record of 7-2-1 with a 2-1-1 conference record.

The Pima men's team currently sits 2nd in the conference, as they tied with Phoenix last Saturday 2-2. Before that game the Aztecs were on a six game winning streak. Their record currently sits at 6-0-1 overall with a 3-0-1 conference record.

This is the first meeting between both teams this season.

The men will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. with the women following at 8:00 p.m.
