Men's Basketball hosts Morton College on Thursday

MCC Men's Basketball hosts Morton College on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

The Thunderbirds are coming off a 85-52 defeat at the hands of Gillette College in their last contest back on Dec. 18. MCC has been off for the holiday break since, allowing them to recharge in hopes of getting back on track before getting into the heart of conference play. Mesa enters play with a 4-6 overall record (2-3 ACCAC).

Morton College comes in winners of just one of their last five games as they hold a 5-5 overall record so far this season. The Panthers have been kept winless since Nov. 25 when they defeated Wilbur Wright College, 92-64. 

The game will tip-off at 4:30 p.m. at Theo Heap Gymnasium. admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item.

• Let Lual work: Sophomore forward Lual Lual has led the team in scoring the last three contests and in rebounding their last seven. Lual is a walking double double and when the offense is at its peak, Lual is usually heavily involved. 

• Work the glass: The Panthers don't specialize in being a dominant team on the glass, grabbing 31.3 rebounds/game with a -.3 margin on the season. MCC hasn't been as successful on the glass this year with an average of 35.8 boards/game, but this could be a game for MCC to have a breakout showing.
