Mesa, AZ - The Mesa men's basketball team will return to the hardwood this Saturday, as they travel to Douglas to face the 24th ranked Cochise College Apaches at 7:30 pm. The Thunderbirds haven't played since last Saturday when they upset Scottsdale Community College 68-58 at home.
Mesa enters play on Saturday near the bottom of the ACCAC conference standings, at 4-9 overall and 2-6 in ACCAC action. Cochise College enters action fresh off their first conference loss this past week, to the same Scottsdale squad that MCC hosted last weekend. The 24th ranked Apaches are currently 19-2 overall and 10-1 in ACCAC play.
This will be the second and final meeting between these two squads. The Apaches defeated the Thunderbirds in Mesa back on November 20, by a final of 92-60. In the loss, MCC shot 44% from the field and had two players finish in double-figures scoring. Quincy Reece led the way with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field.
