Quincy Reece Named ACCAC D1 Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week

MESA, AZ - Freshman forward Quincy Reece (Mesa, AZ / Red Mountain HS) from the Mesa Community College men's basketball team has been named the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) Division 1 Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for his performance from games during the week of December 13 through 19. This is the first award won by a Thunderbird this season.

Quincy Reece and the Thunderbirds had one game last week, as they hosted Williston State College in a non-conference battle in Theo Heap Gymnasium. The freshman had his strongest showing of the season, logging his first career double-double, with 22 points and 15 rebounds on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. Reece also finished 50% (6-of-12) from the charity-stripe. Reece added two assists, one steal, and one block to his stat line in the comeback win.

The Thunderbird men head into the holiday break with a 2-6 overall record. The T-Birds return to the hardwood on December 27, when they host the annual three-day Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout. Mesa's first game will be against Midland College at 8pm on Monday, December 27.
