Mesa Baseball looks for the season sweep of the Coyotes on Saturday

Mesa Baseball looks to complete a season sweep of the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes on Saturday.

The T-Birds were able to grind out a 3-2 victory over CGCC at home on Friday as Jayden Israel and Sam McAleer each had sac RBI's to help propel Mesa to the victory.

Andrew Plutt picked up the save for Mesa as he pitched two-thirds striking out two. Plutt faced a two out bases loaded situation in the 9th inning but was able to strike out the Coyote batter to secure the win for the T-Birds.

With the win Mesa improved their record to 29-16 (17-14 ACCAC) and now sit atop the ACCAC DII standings, leapfrogging CGCC. 

Mesa will travel to take on the Coyotes on Saturday with an opportunity to strengthen their grip over the No. 1 seed with another win.
