Dean Bittner Named ACCAC DII Baseball Player of the Week

MESA, AZ - The Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) announced on Monday, that Mesa Thunderbird infielder Dean Bittner has been named the ACCAC DII Baseball Player of the Week for games played from April 4-10. This is the first award for a Thunderbird player this season.

In five games, the sophomore from Phoenix and Campo Verde High School hit .538 (7-13) with two doubles, a homerun, and six RBIs. He also walked twice and stole two bases.

The Thunderbirds return to the diamond on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to face Chandler-Gilbert (20-25 overall, 11-17 ACCAC) at 3 pm. These two squads will turn around and play each other Wednesday afternoon at MCC, with the first pitch also scheduled for 3 pm.
