Mesa Beach Volleyball capped off their 2024 season with a 5th place finish at the NJCAA Beach Volleyball Championship over the weekend.
The Lady T-Birds began the event as the No. 6 seed and improved all the way to the No. 4 position after pool play. MCC took on No. 5 seeded Lake Sumter State College with a chance to play in the semifinals against No. 1 seed, Palm Beach State.
Unfortunately for Mesa the T-Birds would come up just short, losing 3-2 and ending their hopes of a national title.
In the battle for 5th place Mesa dominated No. 6 Sandhills Community College, earning a 5-0 sweep in their final match of the season.
No. 1 pairing Amaya Evans and Taylor Erickson had a great tournament as they went, 5-1 in the event to help lead the charge for the T-Birds.
The fifth place finish (16-14 record) is the best in program history topping their 6th place finish (13-9 record) just a season ago, with the youth that Mesa has it would come to no surprise for anyone if they made a charge at a top three finish next season.
