Beach volleyball sweeps two on final day of California trip

Menifee, Calif. – The Mesa beach volleyball team completed its three-day trip to California by sweeping the final two matches with wins over College of the Desert and Mt. San Jacinto, both by 4-1 scores.

  That gives MCC a 6-3 record in its first full season of the sport. They went 4-2 on this trip.

  The No. 2 team of Jessica Goldsmith and Maci Lopeman, the No. 3 pair of Abby Platt and Annie Hansen and the No. 5 group of Cassidy Wakefield and Braylin Palmer all won twice on the final day of the trip.

  The T-Birds return home for four matches next week, taking on Ottawa and Arizona Christian Wednesday at Gene Autry Park as well as NCAA Division II Wayne State and South Mountain Thursday at Kiwanis Park.
