Windy conditions can't stop Mesa beach volleyball from downing GCU Club, 4-1

  Mesa, AZ – Playing in extremely windy conditions, the Mesa beach volleyball team won its second match in a row, taking down the Grand Canyon University Club Team,  4-1, Wednesday at Gene Autry Park.

  The T-Birds won all but the No. 1 match, taking three matches in just two sets.

  Jessica Goldsmith and Maci Lopeman won their first of the year at No. 2, while the No. 3 team of Abby Platt and Annie Hansen , as well as the No. 4 team of Sadie Montague and Jordan Ebner were victorious in two sets each.

  MCC will next travel to California for four matches. On Thursday, March 2, Mesa will take on Santa Barbara CC and the Cal Lutheran Club at Santa Barbara, while the next day they will travel to El Cajon, Calif., to play host Grossmont as well as Mira Costa.
