Beach volleyball gains first win, tops South Mountain, 3-2

  Tempe, AZ – The Mesa beach volleyball team picked up its first win of the season with a 3-2 victory over South Mountain, the only other ACCAC school that sponsors the sport. The T-Birds are now 1-1.

  MCC won the No. 1, 4 and 5 matches to claim the victory.

  The pair of Karla Ramirez and Abby Wermuth won, 21-16, 19-21, 15-10. Sadie Montague and Jordan Ebner were victorious in an exciting match at No. 4, 21-18, 14-21, 17-15. Cassidy Wakefield and Braylin Palmer took the No. 5 match, 21-16, 21-19.

  The T-Birds take on the Grand Canyon U. Club next Wednesday at Gene Autry Park in Mesa.
