Beach volleyball drops season opener to Arizona Christian, 4-1

  Glendale, AZ – Mesa opened its 2023 beach volleyball season with a 4-1 loss to four-year Arizona Christian Friday at the Victory Lane Sports Park.

  The team of Abby Wermuth and Annie Hansen scored MCC's lone point with an exciting 13-21, 21-13, 15-13 win at No. 4.

  Mesa also extended the No. 1 match to three sets with Karla Ramirez and Abby Wermuth falling, 11-21, 21-17, 5-15.

  The T-Birds will be back in action next Thursday, taking on South Mountain CC, the only other ACCAC school which plays the sport, at 11:00 a.m. at Kiwanis Park, in Tempe.
