Five Thundbird teams in action on Saturday

Five MCC teams will take flight on Saturday.

Baseball

MCC baseball will host Gateway Community College on Saturday for an ACCAC contest. The Thunderbirds lost in their game against the Geckos Friday, 30-9. With the loss on Friday the Geckos lead the season series against the Thunderbirds, 2-1. 

MCC comes into the game with a 20-30 record (6-27 ACCAC). The Geckos come in with a 25-22 overall record (17-18 ACCAC).

First pitch will be at noon.

Softball

The Lady T-Birds will also host Gateway Community College on Saturday as they will look to finish out their season strong. This game will be played at MCC, but the Geckos will be listed as the home team. 

These teams have met already this year as back in early March MCC won both games of their doubleheader.

The Lady T-Birds come in with a 23-23 overall record, and a 17-23 conference record. They currently sit 3rd when it comes to the Region I DII playoff seeding.

The Geckos 8-30 overall and conference mark.

Beach Volleyball 

The Lady T-Birds of the sane compete in day three of the 2023 NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship. 

Through their first two days of action, MCC has gone 2-2 and find themselves in the Consolation Bracket 1 section. They  are the No. 1 seed and wil battle the No. 4 seed, Bryant & Stratton (VA). If the Lady T-Birds win they will move on to the Consolation 1 Bracket championship and play the winner of the No. 2 Richard Bland and the No. 3 State College of Florida contest. If MCC loses they will play the loser of the No. 2 and No . 3 game for 3rd place in the bracket.

Men's / Women's Track and Field

The track and field team will compete in day two of the Canyon Invitational which is being held at Grand Canyon University.
