Golf, baseball, and softball in action on Saturday

Three MCC teams take flight on Saturday.

Baseball

The baseball team will travel to Phoenix College for their second straight game against the Bears. The Thunderbirds fell to PC 11-8 on Friday after the Bears put up five runs in the 9th to regain the lead and take the victory. 

MCC comes into the game with a 18-28 record (6-25 ACCAC). Phoenix College enters with a 21-23 record (10-17 ACCAC). First pitch will be at 12:00 p.m.

Softball

The Lady T-Birds will host Scottsdale Community College for an ACCAC doubleheader. The last time these teams met in late Feb. they split their doubleheader with MCC winning game 1, 11-6, and SCC winning game two, 5-4.

MCC comes into Saturday on a five game losing streak, their longest of the season. Their overall record is 21-19 (15-19 ACCAC). SCC comes in on a two game winning streak while being 12-22 in both conference and overall contests.

Currently MCC sits in the third seed in the ACCAC standings when it comes to DII teams. Chandler-Gilbert sits at four and is tied with the Lady T-Birds with 15 conference wins, but are two games back in the loss column.

Men's Golf

The men's golf team will compete in day one of the Estrella Mountain Invitational. The team is coming off a fourth place finish at the EAC Invite on April 5.
