Women's cross country fifth at UC-San Diego Classic

San Diego, Calif. – The Mesa women's cross country team took fifth place as the only two-year school at the UC-San Diego Triton Classic Saturday.

MCC was led by Ellis Collins who placed 19^th in the 75-runner field with a 6k time of 23:44.9 on a very rugged, hilly, course.

Gabby Wiswell was the next T-Bird finisher clocking in at 24:27.7 in 35^th place.

Tanaeya Johnson was Mesa's third finisher, taking 37^th place in 24:41.6.

Mesa next competes in the Redhawk Invitational, hosted by Park University, on Saturday, Oct. 19.
