#10 Mesa Gets 3 Set Sweep Over Ottawa University JV

Mesa, AZ - It was a nice victory for the #10 Mesa Thunderbirds Wednesday night as they defeated the Ottawa University JV team in three sets, 25-11, 25-22, 25-18.

It was nice for Mesa Head Coach Megan Taylor as she was able to utilize all the players on her roster thoughout the match.

In set one, Mesa had total control from the first serve, jumping out quickly to a 12-6 advantage then extending it to 20-9 while finishing off the set with a 25-11 win.  In set two, the Spirit kept with the T-Birds, even going ahead 19-16 at one point.  Mesa however rallied, tying the set at 22 then finishing off the set with a 25-22 win.  In set three, Mesa pulled away around the 10 point mark, extending their lead to 15-12, then 20-14 and finishing off with a 25-18 win.

With the victory, Mesa moves to 9-2 on the season.  They will travel to #8 South Mountain for a big conference matchup with the Cougars on Friday night at 7 pm.
