Mesa, AZ- The T-Birds took the first set but dropped the next three sets in a loss to Pima Community College Thursday night, 3-1, 26-24, 23-25, 22-25, 20-25.
Mesa played well in the first set, matching points with Pima, taking the first set 26-24.
The T-Birds took that momentum into the second set, again matching points with the Aztecs up until the end. Mesa couldn't convert on the last two points and gave Pima the set victory.
The third set started out great for Mesa, getting up 14-5 at one point. Pima called timeout at that point and the momentum shifted. The T-Birds became flustered and couldn't regain composer, letting the Aztecs go on a 20-8 run to win set three.
The Aztecs continued their set three momentum into the fourth set, defeating Mesa 25-20.
Mesa moves to 3-13 on the season. They will have the weekend off and then down to Yuma where they play the Matadors Wednesday night.
