Volleyball goes 2-3 at Scottsdale Inv.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The Mesa volleyball team went 2-3 at the Scottsdale Invitational over the weekend.
The T-Birds defeated Victoria (Texas) and Prairie St. (Ill.), both 3-1, and fell to Eastern Utah, 3-2, Central Arizona 3-1 and Spokane, 3-1.
Among the top performances for MCC, Ryanne Willis (So. Taylor, AZ/Snowflake H.S.) had 16 kills in the loss to Eastern Utah while Lindsey Logan (Fr., Anchorage, AK/S. Anchorage H.S,) and Willis each had 12 in matches.
Mandy Stewart (So., Thatcher, AZ/Thatcher H.S.) had 33 assists in the Prairie St. match and 28 vs. Eastern Utah.
Logan contributed 20 digs in the Eastern Utah match and Madison Horn (Fr., Cave Creek, AZ/Cactus H.S.) added 19 in the win over Prairie St.
The T-Birds take on Eastern Arizona in an ACCAC match Wednesday at Theo Heap Gym.
