Women's Tennis Take Gila Monsters Down, 9-0

THATCHER, AZ – With shut-down performances from the No. 3-6 singles players, the Mesa women's tennis team took another step toward a perfect conference season with a 9-0 victory over Eastern Arizona.  

The T-Birds are now 15-1 overall and 7-0 in ACCAC play. They will conclude league action with a match at Glendale next Tuesday after hosting New Mexico Military Saturday.  

Sweeping to 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles were No. 3 Yolena Carlon, No. 4 Hanna Nelson, No. 5 Maria Beatriz Garduno and No. 6 Julia Ortiz.  

Carlon and Garduno also scored an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles.  

Mesa has won each of its conference matches by 9-0 scores and has a total of 13 9-0 wins among its 15 victories.
