Women's tennis tops Skagit Valley, fall to Pima

  MESA, AZ - In paair of matches earlier in the week the Mesa women's tennis team defeated Skagit Valley (Calif.) before falling to Pima, 6-3.

  MCC easily topped its California opponent, 9-0.

  Then the T-Birds ran into a tough ACCAC opponent, losing to the Aztecs in Tucson, AZ. 

  Mesa took three of the top four singless matches. Raechel Eshillonu won at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1, Sheridan Skarda (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain H.S.) was a 6-0, 6-1 victor at No. 3 and Desiree Curiel (So., Globe-Miami, AZ/Maima H.S.) won at No. 4, 6-2, 6-1.

  One singles and one doubles match went to PCC is vert close contests.

  The T-Birds will be back in action Tuesday at home against Eastern Arizona at 1:30 p.m.
