Women's tennis falls in California to Cerritos, 7-2

  LOS ANGELES, Calif. - A trip to California for the Mesa women's tennis team resulted in a 7-2 loss to a powerful Cerriots team Tuesday.

  Desiree Cureil (So., Globe-Miami, AZ/Miami H.S.) was MCC's only winner in singles, taking down Katia Brambila at No. 4, 6-2, 6-2.

  The No. 3 doubles team of Sheridan Skarda (Fr., Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain H.S.) and Sydney Madsen (So., Orem, Utah/Perry (AZ) H.S.) won 8-2 over Brambila and Merli Alcaid.

  Mesa will next play on Thursday, March 26 at Glendale.
