Marcenco Falls in NJCAA Women's Tennis Semi-Final

  TYLER, Texas - Facing the top-seeded player at No. 4 singles, Kayla Kleir, of ASA, Mesa's Julia Marcenco, pictured right, saw her excellent run through the NJCAA Women's national championship come to an end Wednesday at Tyler J.C..

  With only championship matches remaining to be played, MCC stands in 11th place with 18 points. A year ago the T-Birds finished 20th with 8.5 points.

  She dropped a 0-6, 1-6 decision after having won her first three matches as the No. 5 seed.

  In No. 3 consolation semi-finals doubles Desiree Curiel and Karah Hedquist lost to Sheridan McKissock and Elizabeth Arens, of Elgin, 3-8, to conclude MCC's play in the tournament.
