Mesa, AZ - The Mesa women's soccer team defeated the Cochise Apaches Saturday night, 2-0.

For the T-Birds, it was Martina Bueno who scored right out of the gates in the second minute with an assist from Jennifer Montelongo.

Then in the 27th minute of the first half, Mesa scored again off the foot of Shelby Nelson.  That's all the T-Birds would need as they controlled the tempo of the match and held their second team scoreless this week, the other being South Mountain on Tuesday afternoon.

Mesa moves to .500 (4-4) overall on the season, sporting a 3-4 record in the ACCAC.  The T-Birds will be back home on Tuesday night against the Pima Aztecs, kickoff at 7 p.m.
