Torres named ACCAC Goalkeeper of the Week for second time

  MESA, AZ - For the second time this year, Mesa gaolkeeper Danielle Torres (So., Yuma, AZ/Kofa H.S.) has been named ACCAC Goalkeeper of the Week.

  The award comes for her play last week when the T-Birds defetaed Glendale, 5-1, and Chandler-Gilbert, 1-0.

  In the two games Torres made 11 saves and helped MCC improve its record to 8-5-5 and remain in the hunt for a Region I playoff berth.

  She had previously earned the honor for the week of Sept. 22-28 when, in two wins and a tie, she allowed just three goals.

  For the year she has an outstanding 0.87 goals-against average.
