Eddy, Torres named ACCAC Players of the Week in women's soccer

  MESA, AZ - Three games in five days without a loss for the Mesa women's soccer team has resulted in two players earning ACCAC Player of the Week honors.

  Morgan Eddy (So., Farmington, NM/Farmington H.S.) was chosen Player of the Week and Danielle Torres (So., Yuma, AZ/Kofa H.S.) was named Goalkeeper of the Week for Mesa's strong showing last week.

  The T-Birds played 11th-ranked Paradise Valley to a 2-2 tie, scoring both goals in the final eight minutes. Eddy had assists on both of them. She also scored a goal, and had another assist in MCC's 8-0 rout of South Mountain. Saturday she had the tying goal as the T-Birds knotted Arizona Western on the road, 1-1.

  Torres was involved in both the ties. She had six saves against PVCC and then seven in the Arizona Western game.

  Mesa will travel to Phoenix Tuesday night to make up a game cancelled by bad weather. That will be at 7:00 p.m. The T-Birds will then return home Thursday to take on Cochise at 8:00 p.m.
