Women's soccer ties Arizona Western, 1-1 in OT

  MESA, AZ - Mesa and Arizona Western tied in women's soccer Thursday night, 1-1. The tie leaves both teams with 1-0-1 records.

  MCC got on the board first in the ACCAC contest played at John D. Riggs Stadium. Tawsi Rohner, pictured right, (Fr., Gilbert, AZ/Gilbert H.S.) netted her first goal of her collegiate career just 28 seconds into the second half.

  Monserat Rodriguez tied it for the Matadors eight minutes later and that is the way it stood through two overtimes.

  Danielle Torres (So., Yuma, AZ/Kofa H.S.) was outstanding in goal for the T-Birds, making 13 saves.

  Mesa will travel to Douglas, AZ, Saturday to take on Cochise at 3:00 p.m.
