Women's Soccer Falls at Glendale, 2-1

  GLENDALE, AZ - Glendale broke a 1-1 halftime tie with a goal in the 58th minute and held on to defeat Mesa in women's soccer Thursday, 2-1.

  Karen Toro gave GCC a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, but Jordan Drake, pictured right (Fr., Grand Junction, Colo/Grand Junction H.S.) pulled the T-Birds even with her 11th goal of the year in the 36th minute with Amber Myers (So., Flagstaff, AZ/Coconino H.S.) getting the assist.

  Breelyn Petty then recorded what would prove to be the game-winner for the Gauchos early in the second half.

  The win improved Glendale to 5-12 overall and 5-10 in ACCAC play while MCC is now 6-11 and 6-9.

  The T-Birds host Cochise Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at John D. Riggs Stadium.
