Eddy Goal Helps Lift Women's Soccer Past Cochise, 2-1
MESA, AZ - Morgan Eddy, pictured right, (Fr., Farmington, N.M./Farmington H.S.) scored in the 69th minute to break a 1-1 tie and lead the Mesa women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Cochise Saturday at John D. Riggs Stadium.
Eddy's second goal of the season came 18 minutes after Talya DeLeon had brought Cochise into the 1-1 tie.
Mesa took a 1-0 halftime lead when Monique Moore (Fr., Phoenix, AZ/Hamilton H.S.) tallied her second of the season in the 22nd minute with an assist going to Jordan Drake (Fr., Grand Junction, Colo/Grand Junction H.S.).
Danielle Torres (Fr., Yuma, AZ/Kofa H.S.) had a fine game in goal making seven saves helping to blunt the Apaches' attack. Cochise now has a 10-8 record and is 10-7 in ACCAC play. Mesa is 7-11 and 7-9.
The T-Birds host Pima on sophomore night Thursday at 4:30 at John D. Riggs Stadium.
